About Helen:

I have been working in the Special Education field for ten years. My first experience began when I was 12 years old. My sister was born with the diagnosis of cerebral palsy. I created many interesting games to stimulate her thinking, taught her how to group objects and later how to read. I received my credential in Special Education at CSUN (Northridge, Los Angeles). While working on getting my credential, I taught a self-contained classroom for children with Specific Learning Disabilities.
Then I moved to oregon. I completed my Master's Program at Portland State University. I currently work as a Resource Teacher for the Hillsboro School District. I love working with children who think and work differently. The best reward for me is their smiles of accomplishment. My favorite subject to teach is writing, but I have a great expertise in teaching reading and math.
