Job Responsibilities:
Position Purpose

Responsible for the day-to-day technical field support of the Sales Team. Assist in moving opportunities through the sales process by utilization of technical and communication skills.

General Responsibilities

* Assists Sales Representatives in presentations to customers
* Designs viable complex voice and data network sales solutions for customer applications, including preparation of network topologies, technical specifications, and assist Sales with pricing
* Pull and analyze CSR's (with assistance from TSC's and Sales Coordinators as needed)
* Assist Sales Rep with ICB development and review, and assembles required data and initiates Complex ICB process
* Interfaces with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations, and provides email confirmation to customer
* As required, conducts formal site surveys on new orders (T-1 and above). Site survey will be used Service Delivery and Ops.
* Works with appropriate internal committees to validate companies ability and willingness to offer a solution.
* Translates techno-speak to plain English for both customers and internal personnel and English to techno-speak at a level all can readily understand
* Monitors and manages IPS pending queue
* Reviews and scrubs all orders before being submitted
* Works with CSM and top tier account for configuration changes
* Develop and deliver appropriate ad-hoc training for market, including new product and new technology
* Engage in mentoring activities with technical support staff without formal supervisory responsibility
* Performs other support duties, as assigned


Major Functions

Designs complex viable voice and data network sales solutions for customer applications with alternatives based on customer-specific technical and financial parameters. May include preparation of network topologies, network drawings, technical specifications, and assisting Sales with pricing

Interfaces with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations. Conducts site surveys on new orders (T-1 and above)

Reviews and scrubs all orders before being submitted

Other misc. items, including:
* Develop and deliver appropriate ad-hoc training for market, including new product and new technology
* Works with CSM and top tier account for configuration changes
* Assist Sales Rep with ICB development and review, and assembles required data and initiates Complex ICB process
* Works with appropriate internal committees to validate companies ability and willingness to offer a solution.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements

* Minimum of 5 years of field telecommunications/data sales/technical experience
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
*knowledgeable of Outside Plant
* Expert knowledge of PBX systems, voice mail, Centrex, in-depth industry IP networking Internet Protocol knowledge, firewall, VPN, Wavelength, MPLS, Ethernet, IP telephony, digital hierarchy, router/server, LAN/WAN, web hosting, managed server, collocation
* Working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, and PC-based network utility tools
* Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
* Must be comfortable conversing expertly and clearly with customers
* Must be comfortable training Sales on basic voice and data applications and requirements
* Valid Drivers' License
