Urban Planner. – Portland

Currently seeking a senior level urban planner to join a urban design and land use planning team in the Portland area.
The candidate will join our collaborative, multi-disciplinary planning and design team, to work on complex urban design, planning and policy projects throughout the United States and internationally. The companies expertise in developing vibrant, sustainable communities includes ground-breaking work in transit-oriented development (TOD) as well as applying the same walkable, sustainable planning principles to integrate land use and transportation in communities and centers with limited transit access.

Duties for this position will include serving as the planner on multi-disciplinary project teams, Lead planning and management of urban, master and site planning projects.
Conduct research on land use and TOD planning and policy best practices.
Provide analysis and recommendations for comprehensive plan amendments and plan implementation actions.
Facilitate public and stakeholder public meetings and public participation processes. Business development, project management, and managing production, track project budgets, scopes and schedules.

Must have a Bachelors degree in planning, public policy or similar discipline.
At least 5 years of progressively responsible planning experience in planning and urban design. Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to work with project teams in a fast-paced environment.
Specific interest and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: urban design and land planning, master and concept planning, design guidelines, comprehensive plan policy, public policy, implementation of planning and design projects, transit-oriented development, multi-modal transportation options, sustainable development, integrated land use and transportation planning, and public involvement strategies.
